Led by Professor Sergio Rasmann at the University of Neuchatel, the Laboratory of Functional Ecology investigates how plant chemical defences shape interactions among plants, herbivores, predators and parasitoids.
The group combines chemical ecology with phylogenetic, quantitative-genetic, phytochemical and behavioural approaches to study the evolution of plant defences, ecological interactions and diversification.
Within DBGI, the lab contributes chemical-ecology expertise that connects plant chemistry with biodiversity and ecological context.
