The Swiss National Science Foundation has awarded the University of Fribourg an R’EQUIP infrastructure grant for “Biological complexity addressed by mass spectrometry” (Grant 229588). Beginning on 1 December 2024, the CHF 700,000 project will run until 30 November 2025.
The project brings together nine applicants from across the University of Fribourg, including Pierre-Marie Allard of the COMMONS Lab. It will support shared mass spectrometry infrastructure for metabolomics, proteomics and related research across the university.
The resulting analytical capacity will be relevant to DBGI research, which depends on reliable mass spectrometry workflows for profiling plant samples and connecting chemical observations with biological metadata.
